designed and built a sandbox yesterday. T and i layed pavers at the bottom of our deck stairs. we can do it!
pictures can be seen at www.picasaweb.google.com/boutdrz in the 'crash pad' album. i will be moving them soon, so if they are not there, look for one called 'home improvements'.
will likely be setting up a 'photoblog' in the near future. be on the look out. this one should be (eventually) worth telling your friends about. trying to get involved with some communities....if that really is such a thing.

copy and paste

ok. so i lifted this from an email that i received from a very good friend of mine who shares very similar views on most things......

A Billion - the true story about a Billion Dollars.

This is too true to be very funny. The next time you hear a politician
use the word 'billion’ in a casual manner, think about whether
you want the politicians spending YOUR tax money.
A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but
one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into
some perspective in one of its releases.

A. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
B. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.
C. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in caves.
D. A billion days ago no one walked on the earth on two feet.
E. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the
rate our government is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain, let's take a look at
New Orleans . It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division.
Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu (D), is presently asking the Congress
for $250 BILLION to rebuild New Orleans .
Interesting number. What does it mean?
A. Well, if you are one of 484,674 residents of New Orleans (every
man, woman, child), you each get $516,528.
B. Or, if you have one of the 188,251 homes in New Orleans , your home
gets $1,329,787 for repairs.
C. Or, if you are a family of four, your family gets $2,066,012.

Washington , D.C .. HELLO!!! ... Are all your calculators broken??

we survived another one!

April Fool's Day, that is....no pranks played on our family, as near as I can tell.
work was very busy, very stressed, and LONG yesterday. but i am not in charge this month, so it went better for me than it could have. elizabeth took it in stride, as always, and got us through the several crises of the day.
today is another story. off today, but have volunteered to work this morning to help avoid troubles. this means that i will get an early release tomorrow. yay....i hope that the weather holds out! On call tonight, so not much going on ....not that there was anyway... :)
have been taking more pictures...went through a period where i didn't even pick up the camera. i thought about that, and then just grabbed it and started shooting away again, even of people and family. this candid shot of B came out of it, which has turned into my new favourite shot.

check out his chubby feet! he is posed, saying, "cheeeeeeeze"! He will keep saying it until you take the picture. too cute. when viewed on a good (fairly good) computer screen, a reflection of his face is just barely visible. very cool.... i really can't wait for better weather to arrive so that i can take shots of people outdoors.....
ok. off to try to manage some pictures.

peace, yo!
