Hiked along the AT today from Norwich, VT southward (relatively). Probably only hiked about 5 miles round-trip, but it sure feels like 30!!!! The first 45 mins didn't require snowshoes. After that, I broke fresh tracks (see photo??) for the better part of 1.25 hours.
My thighs were on FIRE (FIRE, I SAY!!!!) when i finally decided to turn around. I was HOPING against hope to reach some shelter (who's name eludes me at the moment), but I fear that I turned around about 500 meters away. I will endeavor to reach it next time!
So the training has begun. At least from my standpoint. Weeb has been in great shape for quite some time now, so she doesn't have as much to worry about as her ancient brother.
